It’s been one of those days. You know what I’m talking about. The kind you both look foward to, and despise at the same time.
Christmas shopping.
My mom’s last day at work was yesterday; she took off today to make her Holidays even longer. Must be nice! So I slept in a lil bit, and it was glooooorious! Then had a quick wake-me-up shower, my mom went to her Dr’s appointment … by the time she got back I was all ready to brave the stores.
Naturally, we went to Winners first, where I found a fabulous pair of Australian boots. Suuuper comfy and ridiculously warm. And to top it off, it was only $80!! I <3 sales. My mom’s reason for wanting to go to Winners was to find a frame for an older photo of her Opa + family. She ended up finding a really nice one. Maybe I’ll take a picture of it mounted on the wall…
Also picked up a gorgeous, dainty looking poinsettia table runner. A nice merry red colour with the perfect amount of glitter. Got some flannel sheets so I don’t have to freeze when I crawl into bed at night.
After that, went to Independent Grocery store, bought some fun, not our usual types of food. Chocolates, scallops, black tiger shrimp… that sort of stuff. Parents are going away tomorrow until Sunday night so I’m planning on experimenting with some tiger shrimp and fresh ravioli pasta. I’ll let you know how it went, including some pictures too!
Next, we went to a local bakery to get some fresh whole wheat buns, black forest ham, dill havarti, sharp cheddar, yuummmm. Made some sandwiches for lunch to go along with some classic Timmy’s coffee ! : ) Ahhh, bliss.
I understand this post is the typical “blog” type of post, but I figure if I leave you with something that makes me smile, you’ll forgive me!
The boyfriend sent my this photo and I always laugh because I can totally see him doing this!!
